Jena Bulger has an MA in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado. This is Jena 's third year at SCS, she previously taught in public and private schools in Boulder, Colorado.
Jena’s background is in experiential education and project based learning. Jena taught at an arts-focus school where she developed a passion for using the arts to facilitate learning. Jena is thrilled to be part of Seacoast Charter School and is looking forward to a year of creative, exciting learning experiences.
Jena grew up outside of New York City. She is recently married and has a competition winning Frisbee dog and a lazy cat. Jena enjoys skiing, mountain biking, hiking, cooking, knitting and working at Willow Pond Community Farm in the summer.

1st and 2nd Grade Teacher
This is Kristin Larrabee’s third full year at Seacoast Charter School. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. She also has her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Hampshire. Kristin taught fourth and fifth grade in North Hampton before coming to SCS.
Kristin and her husband, Matt, enjoy the outdoors, especially boating, and remodeling their house in Greenland. She can also be found walking her rescue dog from Alabama, Tucker. Kristin and Matt are Volunteer EMT’s for the town of Stratham.

3rd and 4th Grade Teacher
Jocalyn Ouillette has been teaching at the Seacoast Charter School since 2007. She began as the first and second grade teacher and currently teaches third and fourth grade.
After graduating with a Masters in Education from the University of New Hampshire, Jocalyn taught in her hometown of York, ME at The Herne School of Discovery. There she taught kindergarten, first and second grade, integrating nature studies throughout the curriculum.
As a teacher Jocalyn has had many experiences teaching multiage classrooms and has now had the opportunity to teach preschool through grade 8! Her students work cooperatively and become independent in their classroom. Jocalyn’s classrooms have been described as peaceful and her students hard working. She lives in York, ME with her dog Frankie. There they enjoy walking on the beach and collecting sea glass.
Kate Yates -

3rd and 4th Grade Teacher
Kate Yates received her BFA from UMass Dartmouth, and then earned her teaching certificate and MEd from UMass Lowell in 2002. She has been teaching for ten years.
Kate began her career in Andover, MA, as an assistant in a first grade classroom. After spending a year at Sanborn Elementary School, she was hired as a classroom teacher. Five years later, Kate moved to Vermont to begin her family with her husband Derek. She worked in many schools during her two years in Vermont, both volunteering and substituting.
In Kate’s classroom, you will find children working together in cooperative groups, using manipulatives, talking about (and reading) many books, and discovering new facts and stories about the world around them. As an artist herself, Kate is always incorporating art into all areas of academics. She maintains high expectations for the students’ academic performance, and also guides the children in finding out how they learn best.
Kate grew up in Needham, MA. Her husband, Derek, is a nuclear engineer, and they have two wonderful children – Delaney, age 2 and Reed, age 1.

5th and 6th Grade Teacher
This is Becky's first full year teaching at Seacoast Charter School after working as an aide in both 3 /4 classrooms during the 2008-2009 school year. A New Hampshire native, Becky earned her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire before relocating to sunny San Diego, CA. After several years in Franchising Real Estate she went back to school where she earned an M.A. in Elementary Education. Becky taught a Business and Computer Applications course at the high school level combining her business background with her desire to teach, and she also worked as an aide and substitute teacher in the elementary setting before accepting the full time position at SCS.
In Becky's Language Arts classroom you will find students excited about reading and writing. Using a workshop model, students are given the opportunity to be creative by choosing what they want to read and write about and are encouraged to push themselves to experience new genres in both subjects. Students are eager to share their writing and often give book-talks on highly recommended books and authors. Students are learning to become habitual, critical readers and thinkers.

Ann received her Associates Degree in Office Management from Northern Essex Community College. She worked in management until taking time off to raise her children. During her time volunteering in her children’s classrooms, Ann came to love the essence and enthusiasm of learning children. She is enthusiastic about assisting and seeing children succeed.
Ann grew up in the heart of Amish Country in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She lives in Newfields with her husband, Bruce, a general contractor. Ann and her husband are very proud of their three children, Justyn, 15, Cameron, 12, and Kathryn, 8.

John received his M.A. from Columbia Teachers College in Philosophy & Education and focused on the arts and politics. Also, John conducted research for various professors at Teachers College. John attended the University of New Hampshire and received his B.A. in Philosophy.
John taught as a private general subjects tutor in New York City and as a teacher assistant/P.E. teacher at Montessori Hale O Keiki in Hawaii.
Additionally, he has been an electric bass player as a member of various bands and as a session player for bands in Utah, Hawaii and New York. John also enjoys skiing, Ultimate Frisbee, and is an avid surfer.
John’s teaching method promotes self-motivation and self-regulation so that ultimately students become independent learners and thinkers. John’s greatest qualities are his enthusiasm, positive attitude, and care for each student

Strings Teacher
Mary Maravic is a NH certified K-12 music teacher and has been teaching music and strings at SCS for 4 years. She got her BA in philosophy from Salve Regina College in Newport, Rhode Island.
Mary has taught private music lessons (guitar, violin, fiddle and cello) in the Seacoast Region for the past 6 years. She was also a conductor for the Great Bay Youth Orchestra in Stratham, NH, from Fall 2006 to Spring 2008.
As a player, her main interests lie in American and Irish fiddle music, classical violin and Hawaiian slack-key guitar, as well as bluegrass guitar. She also has a strong interest in music history.
As a teacher, she enjoys bringing all of these elements to the music classroom. Mary believes that everybody can be taught to play an instrument, and likes to emphasize the social nature of playing music with friends and family. Mary’s goal as a teacher is to present music in a clear manner that allows the student to understand the details as well as the overall concept of a given topic, technique, or piece of music. She also strives to teach students to trust themselves, have fun and not be afraid to make mistakes along the way.

1st - 8th Grade Music Teacher
Mary Dellea comes to SCS from The Cornerstone Montessori School where she worked with primary aged children in an enrichment program focusing on art and music.
She received her BA from Vermont College with a concentration in American music history. Mary has been performing music locally and nationally since 2002 on the upright bass, banjo, guitar and vocals. She performed for a year with a nationally touring music theater company and she is also a square and contra dance caller.
Mary is especially excited to be part of the SCS community and will strive to create a comfortable and fun musical environment.

1st - 4th Grade Art / Special Needs
Judy graduated with a B.S. in Special Education and Elementary Education from the College of St. Joseph in Rutland, Vermont. She has taught at a residential school for adolescents with behavioral challenges, and as a Special Needs teacher in an elementary school. Looking for a new challenge, Judy returned to college to get her certification in art education; allowing her to combine her creative and academic sides.
At SCS she provides Special Needs services and is the art teacher for grades one and two. Judy strongly believes that art education helps to develop learning with intuition, innovation, flexibility and creativity. Students learn to use creative approaches to problem solving.
Judy and her husband Steve are proudly raising two teenage sons, Brian and Craig.
Andrea Dillon -

5th - 8th Grade Art
Andrea earned a BS in Childhood Studies and k-8 certification from Plymouth State University in 2007. Andrea persistently works on commissions, paintings and creations. As of January 2010 she has her own studio! For four summers she assisted at an art camp. She always seeks to connect with the art world through mentors, visits to the theatre, museums, galleries, exhibitions and plans to continue her education in fine arts.
Andrea has danced for 18 years, ranging from Ballet to French-Canadian folk dance, Modern Dance, Swing and Flamenco. She continues to take classes every week in Modern and Ballet.
Andrea grew up in Vermont and Chicago and so evolved her belief that any community is strengthened through understanding and caring for one another. She is connected with a non-profit in Nicaragua, and volunteers for the Big Brother Big Sister program. She loves to garden, kayak, hike, write, and visit family.
