June 1, 2010

Everyone will be happy to hear that this is the last week of homework for the school year! I have challenged the students to get 4s on their spelling homework and 15s on their spelling test this Friday. One more week, we can do it!

We will be enjoying our pom pom jar reward next Tuesday, June 8. The class will watch a movie and eat a buffet lunch. Please look in the next few days for the item your child will bring in on that day. We will do our best to have a variety of food items. You are welcome to bring in a hot item at lunch time, but we will not have time to heat it for you. If your child is getting hot lunch that day, they can still get it, and also enjoy our selections.

On June 10, the class will travel to New Castle to climb aboard the gundalow, visit Fort Constitution, and have a picnic lunch. Look for the permission slip soon very soon. Parents are welcome to join us that day.

Our poetry tea is Friday, June 11 at 2:00. Families are invited to enjoy poetry and a snack. More info to follow.

Please make sure your child brings a water bottle!

  • comic strips from the newspaper to use for sequencing lessons
